Beautiful hikes near Valencia you can reach by public transport

Valencia is a beautiful city, but for those looking for a nature escape the surrounding region offers stunning nature and scenic hiking trails. What makes Valencia even more appealing is that many hikes are easily accessible by public transport. Within an hour, you can be in nature without needing a car.

In this blog, we share three hiking destinations around Valencia that are easy to reach by train, metro or bus. Put on your hiking shoes and discover some of the most beautiful nature near Valencia, all accessible by public transport.

Hiking to the castle of Xàtiva

Xàtiva is a great destination for hiking. The town is home to a beautiful castle and several great trails. The famous Castillo de Xàtiva offers panoramic views over the city and the surrounding countryside. The climb to the top is steep, but the views make it completely worth it.

You can reach Xàtiva easily by taking train line C2 from Valencia. The trip takes about one hour.

Riba-roja de Túria and the nature of Les Rodanes

Riba-roja de Túria is a perfect option if you are looking for a peaceful and scenic hike. The natural area of Les Rodanes offers a calm walking route of about 10 kilometers, passing through forests and rocky hills. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers.

From Valencia, you can take metro line 9 to Riba-roja de Túria. The ride takes less than an hour and brings you close to the starting point.

Day trip to Xeraco with an 11 kilometer inland hike

From Valencia's main train station, Estación del Norte, take line C1 to Xeraco. Once there, you can walk from the station into nature. We followed a beautiful route of about 11 kilometers that led us along quiet paths, scenic viewpoints and the Font de l’Ull.

Since the route is not clearly marked everywhere, feel free to ask us for the exact track we followed. We are happy to share it with you.

Xeraco is also about an hour from Valencia by train on line C1.
